DPRK Birthday Marked across Country
Pyongyang, September 9 (KCNA) -- People including youth and students across the country held colorful events to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the DPRK.

Broad spectrum of people visited statues of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il in various areas including Pyongyang and provincial seats to pay tribute.

Wreaths and bunches of flowers were laid before the statues of martyrs, the memorial towers and cemeteries of fallen soldiers of the Korean People's Army across the country by officials of the party, power organs and working people's organizations, servicepersons of the KPA and Korean People's Internal Security Forces, workers, youth and schoolchildren.

People of all social strata including youth and students visited the photo exhibitions showing photos about exploits of peerlessly great men held in Jagang Province, North Hwanghae Province, Kangwon Province and other places.

A concert "Do Prosperous, My Motherland" was given by the National Symphony Orchestra at Moranbong Theater and a circus show at Pyongyang Circus Theater.

Celebration performances were given by officials, working people, artistes, members of the women's union, youth and students in North Hwanghae Province, South Hamgyong Province, Kanggye City, Wonsan City, Sinuiju City, Kaesong City, the construction site of Masik Pass Ski Resort, the Sepho tableland reclamation site and the construction site of Paektusan Songun Youth Power Station.

A sports contest was held by more than 10 000 people in Hamhung City at Hamhung Stadium, adding to the festive mood.

Colorful celebration meetings, oratorical meetings and sports games took place in North Hamgyong Province, Ryanggang Province and others.

Youth and students across the country held dancing parties amid elated atmosphere.

Cheerful laughs of people could be heard in parks and recreation grounds.

After the sunset, electric lights brightly decorated the nocturnal sky of the country in September.
