S. Korean Paper Denounces Conservatives for Distorting History
Pyongyang, September 3 (KCNA) -- The south Korean newspaper Hangyore carried an article on Aug. 30 in denunciation of the puppet conservatives' act of distorting history.

The article said the Committee for Compiling National History on the same day opened to the public the decision of approving the history textbook for high schools to be used from 2014.

According to it, textbooks written by figures of the Modern History Society, an organization of neo-conservatives, passed the examination.

In the textbooks the conservatives beautified Syngman Rhee and Park Chung-Hee, known as traitorous flunkey and military fascist dictator, the article said, and went on:

The textbooks did not refer to the fact that the military dictatorial forces mobilized the troops to cruelly kill demonstrators during the May 18 Kwangju people's resistance. They did not deal with the Jeju April 3 Uprising that claimed lives of innocent civilians, either.

The article expressed concern about the approval of the textbooks fraught with problems in the examination.
