Kim Jong Un Inspects Islet Detachments of KPA
Pyongyang, September 2 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, inspected islet detachments which have been successfully face-lifted as required by the Songun era.

He was accompanied by Choe Ryong Hae, Ri Yong Gil, Jang Jong Nam, Pak Jong Chon, Pak Thae Song, Hwang Pyong So and Ma Won Chun.

The first leg of his inspection was the defence detachment on Jangjae Islet.

Going round newly built barracks, dwelling houses and positions of the detachment, he learned in detail about their construction and the islet's fortification.

Looking round the soldiers' bedrooms, wash-cum-bath room, mess hall, etc., he was greatly satisfied to hear that the soldiers of the detachment are pleased and soldiers on the land envy them as their barracks on the islet have been built better than their homes and all their living conditions are provided at the best level.

He highly praised the detachment for having successfully arranged the education room, a centre for politico-ideological education, to suit the sentiments and feelings of the soldiers and provided good fixtures to it.

He also looked round the dwelling houses of the service personnel's families.

Watching a new district of cozy houses, he said it looks like a rest home.

He had photos taken with all the families, with each against the background of its new house.

He said the Jangjae Islet has undergone a cataclysmic change as the old barracks and dwelling houses completely disappeared and there appeared on the islet new posts and a village of bliss in the era of Songun.

Noting that the builders constructed the barracks and the houses in the spirit of building their own houses and the detachment on the Jangjae Islet became a model in fortification as desired by the party, he said it is the intention of the party to successfully rebuild all the barracks of the KPA units and houses of servicepersons like those on the islet.

He gave an instruction to turn the islet into a woodland by planting trees and plants suited to the climatic and soil conditions on the islet.

He mounted an observation post where he received a detailed report on the targets of Yonphyong Island defence unit and enemy forces' current situation.

He indicated tasks to be fulfilled by the detachment to step up its combat preparations and bolster up its fighting capability and ways to do so, satisfied to learn that the observation post and the fire positions have turned into impregnable ones.

He had a photo session with the soldiers and families of the islet detachment.

The next leg of his inspection was the Hero Defence Detachment on Mu Islet.

Making the rounds of the barracks, dwelling houses and positions newly built like the ones on Jangjae Islet, he learned in detail about their construction and the islet's fortification.

Acquainting himself with the use of wind power generators, he underlined the need for the detachment to manage and operate them well.

He gave an instruction to turn the islet into a woodland by planting many trees that stand sea wind around the barracks and the dwelling houses.

He looked round the kindergarten for six children and a branch school of the Sunwi Higher Middle School for four students on the islet.

Noting that he was pleased to see Mu Islet wonderfully face-lifted like Jangjae Islet, he extended thanks to the units which actively contributed to sprucing up the islet.

Going round the observation post and fire positions, he indicated tasks to be fulfilled by the detachment for making combat preparations and bolstering up the fighting capability.

He enjoyed an art performance given by service personnel of the detachment and congratulated them on their successful performance.

He had a photo session with the service personnel of the detachment and their families.
