Bear Fur, Gift to Kim Il Sung from Romania
Pyongyang, August 30 (KCNA) -- On display at the International Friendship Exhibition House in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is a bear fur, presented to President Kim Il Sung by Romanian President Nicolae Ceausescu.

In May Juche 64 (1975) Kim Il Sung paid an official goodwill visit to Romania.

After having talks with the Romanian president at his villa, Kim Il Sung had a walking with him in the garden. One of the topics of their conversation was bear hunting.

Learning that Kim Il Sung had a good knowledge about bear hunting, Ceausescu told his officials to fetch bear furs to present them as a gift.

Showing them to Kim Il Sung, he told that those furs were of the bears he personally hunted and they won gold, silver and bronze medals respectively at the International Bear Fur Exhibition. Then, he requested Kim Il Sung to select one of them.

Looking at them, Kim Il Sung chose the bronze-medal fur and said, "I am afraid you would be sorry if I take the gold-medal fur."

At the moment, Ceausescu was deeply moved by Kim Il Sung's unassuming character and noble traits.

Thus, the gift represents Ceausescu's profound reverence for Kim Il Sung.
