DPRK's Anniversaries Marked Abroad
Pyongyang, August 30 (KCNA) -- Foreign countries held various events from Aug. 21 to 23 to mark the 53rd anniversary of Kim Jong Il's start of Songun revolutionary leadership and the 65th anniversary of the DPRK.

They included book and photo exhibitions, seminars and film shows in Benin, Brazil and Romania.

Pascal Zouncheme, chief of the Benin Group for the Study of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism, said General Secretary Kim Jong Il changed Korea into a politico-ideological power characterized by the single-minded unity by pursuing Songun politics.

Hessou Kohovi, chairman of the Benin National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea, noted Kim Jong Il's Songun leadership has been succeeded by supreme leader Kim Jong Un.

The chairman of the Brazilian Committee for Remembering Leader Kim Jong Il and other public figures praised President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il for performing the undying feats in founding and developing the DPRK.

Daniel Dediu, vice-chairman of the Romanian preparatory committee for marking the 65th anniversary of the DPRK and chairman of the Romanian Workers' Association, said the DPRK achieved a remarkable development in all fields under the outstanding leadership of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il. He added that the DPRK is shining as a socialist power of Juche and has become the beacon of hope for progressive humankind.

A message to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the event in Benin.
