S. Korean Intelligence Service and Police's Repressive Racket against Opposition Parties
Pyongyang, August 29 (KCNA) -- The Intelligence Service (IS) and the prosecution of south Korea kicked up a wholesale campaign of suppression against the opposition Unified Progressive Party, according to CBS, KBS and MBC of south Korea.

On Wednesday the IS and the Suwon District Prosecutor's Office staged a frantic search operation against houses and offices of a lawmaker from the party and those concerned and members of the eastern association of Kyonggi Province on charges of plotting a rebellion. Moreover, they arrested the vice-chairman of the Kyonggi Provincial Committee of the party and two more officials.

The puppet group claimed it learned that they held a meeting in Seoul in May last and discussed a plan to topple the social system. It declared that it would search and investigate all those involved after branding their activities as the case of an underground revolutionary organization.

In this connection, the Unified Progressive Party charged that the authorities' crackdown upon the party under an absurd charge is little short of declaration of the "yusin" dictatorial system.

The authorities are brandishing rusty swords called coloring operation and suppression under the pretext of security as the truth about the Intelligence Service's interference in the election is being brought to light, the party noted, warning the authorities are seriously mistaken if they calculate they can gag the people with bayonets as the dictators did in the past.
