New Zealand Motorcyclists' Group to Tour Mt. Paektu and Mt. Halla Starts
Pyongyang, August 19 (KCNA) -- A New Zealand Motorcyclists' group to tour Mt. Paektu and Mt. Halla held a kick-off ceremony on the top of Mt. Paektu on Monday.

Present at the ceremony were Pak Kyong Il, chairman of the DPRK-New Zealand Friendship Association, officials concerned, members of the group and lecturers in revolutionary sites in the area of Mt. Paektu.

The head of the group referred to the pleasure of the group to make a trip from Mt. Paektu to Mt. Halla that is up to the southernmost tip of Korea, along the great Paektu Ranges by motorcycle.

He noted that the great Paektu Ranges symbolize the national reunification and homogeneity of the Korean nation as they stretch from Mt. Paektu to the end of the Korean Peninsula.

It is the hope of the group to see the Korean people freely travel from Mt. Paektu to Mt. Halla in a reunified country, he added.

He sincerely wished the Korean people a peaceful, harmonious and prosperous life, reiterating his will to exert great efforts for the reunification of Korea in the future, too.

At the end of the ceremony, the group left Mt. Paektu.
