S. Korean Social Body Discloses Injustice of Project of Four Rivers
Pyongyang, August 15 (KCNA) -- The south Korean environment movement association on Aug. 12 condemned the misrule by preceding Lee Myung Bak's regime at a meeting under the subject of "Failed project of improving four large rivers, What do we do now”.

Present at the meeting were those related to the body, experts and university teachers.

The speakers said that the project proved unsuccessful, adding that it should not have started.

They continued:

This being a hard fact, Lee tricked the people by describing the project of building a great canal as the one of improving the rivers and illegally earmarked a budget for the project to cause losses to the people.

The regime rejected the possible ecological degradation and damage by submersion claimed by experts to go ahead with the project, they noted, adding that the rivers are turning dirty and no one can predict what will come of it in the future.

The bad effect caused by the project is all the more deteriorating and the capacity of maintaining it is on a steady decline.

They underscored the need to make a thorough-going investigation into the companies involved in the project who resorted to briberies and take steps not to repeat such projects.

They called for bringing the degraded natural ecological environment of the four rivers to normal as early as possible and get prepared to prevent any possible disasters.
