Masses in Buddhist Temples Pray for Reunification
Pyongyang, August 15 (KCNA) -- Masses of Buddhists in the north and the south praying for national reunification on the occasion of August 15 simultaneously took place in all temples across the DPRK on Thursday morning.

Attending them were office-bearers of the Central Committee of the Buddhist Federation of Korea and those of the provincial, city and county committees of the Federation as well as priests and believers of the temples.

Rituals were followed by speeches and a joint prayer of Buddhists in the north and the south praying for national reunification.

The speeches and prayer said that the Korean nation which had lived as a homogeneous nation from time immemorial has suffered from national division for nearly 70 years with its peace seriously threatened.

They called on the Buddhists in the north and the south to achieve unity in Dharma-minded concord and actively take part in substantial actions to improve the north-south relations and implement the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration.
