Anniversary of Kim Jong Il's Work Observed in Democratic Congo
Pyongyang, August 13 (KCNA) -- The National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea of Democratic Congo made public a statement on Aug. 5 to mark the 16th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's Work "Let Us Carry Out the Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung's Instructions for National Reunification".

Kim Jong Il in the work formulated the three principles of national reunification, 10-point programme of the great unity of the whole nation and the proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo set forth by President Kim Il Sung as the three charters for national reunification.

These charters helped all Koreans in the north, south and overseas wage a more dynamic struggle for national reunification full of confidence in national reunification and optimism, the statement said, and went on:

The adoption of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration and the October 4 declaration opened a fresh prospect for the reunification of Korea.

However, the ruling quarters of south Korea have escalated confrontation and tension with the backing of outside forces, persistently opposed to reunification.

We supporting the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea vehemently denounce the moves of the U.S. and south Korean puppet authorities to escalate confrontation.

We strongly urge the south Korean authorities to drop the policy of confrontation with fellow countrymen and opt for implementing the three charters for national reunification.

The U.S. should not forget the heavy defeat it suffered in the Korean War but withdraw its nuclear weapons and troops from south Korea as early as possible and dismantle the illegal "UN Command" at once.

Under the wise leadership of supreme leader Kim Jong Un the Korean people will fully implement the last instructions of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il for national reunification and surely achieve national unity and reunification of the country.
