The paper carried a photo of the Arch of Triumph symbolic of the glorious revolutionary history and undying feats of President Kim Il Sung, who accomplished the historic cause of liberating the country.

The article titled "Day of Korea's liberation" said that August 15 saw the Korean nation's liberation from the Japanese imperialists' colonial rule. And this historic day is grandly celebrated in Korea.

The article noted that the President led 20 odd years of the hard-fought anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle to victory, achieving the historic cause of liberating Korea.

It also noted that the 60th anniversary of the victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War was significantly marked in the DPRK.

It carried news that overseas compatriots and foreign guests visited the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun to pay high tribute to the great Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il while staying in the DPRK on the occasion of the anniversary.

It gave photo-accompanied accounts of grand events held in the presence of supreme leader Kim Jong Un such as the inaugural ceremonies of the Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs Cemetery and the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum, a military parade and Pyongyang mass demonstration.

It carried news that Kim Jong Un enjoyed the grand gymnastic and artistic performance "Arirang", a Kim Il Sung Prize winner.

It also gave an account of the meeting of overseas compatriots held in Moscow to support peace on the Korean Peninsula.
