Present at the ceremony were personages of political parties, organizations and organs including the Communist Party of Peru "Red Motherland", Peruvian National Independent Movement for Free Voting's Union, Peruvian Group for the Study of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism, committee for remembering Generalissimo Kim Jong Il, Kim Jong Suk Library, Peruvian Committee for Supporting the Independent and Peaceful Reunification of Korea and the Peruvian-Korean Institute of Culture and Friendship.

Tani Baler Lopera, international secretary of the Communist Party of Peru "Red Motherland" who is chairman of the Peruvian Committee for Supporting the Independent and Peaceful Reunification of Korea, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

The preparatory committee decided to organize political and cultural events including a meeting, lecture and film show on the occasion of the birthday of the DPRK, September 9.
