Japan Urged to Opt for Liquidating Past Crimes
Pyongyang, August 11 (KCNA) -- The Japanese authorities should stop the moves for revising the constitution and lurching to the right but opt for making reparation, apology and compensation for the past crimes, says Rodong Sinmun Sunday in an article.

After the 23rd election of the House of Councilors of Japan its politicians have become busy intensifying the Japan-U.S. alliance and moving to revise the constitution, the article notes, and goes on:

The Japanese right-wing reactionaries, keen on removing a hurdle in realizing their old dream of the "Greater East Asia Co-prosperity Sphere", chose the revision of the constitution, Article 9 to be specific, as a solution.

This is aimed to turn the "Self-Defense Forces" into a "defense army" for legitimate overseas aggression and carry into practice the old dream they failed to realize in the past.

The moves of the Japanese reactionaries to revise the constitution are a prelude to a war of aggression. Their moves are a challenge to the aspiration of mankind for peace and will precipitate their self-destruction.

The Japanese and international community are closely following Japan's moves for militarizing the country and veering to the right.

But the Japanese reactionaries are denying the past history and running headlong into militarization, not reading other's face.

If Japan does not properly face up to the past history and honestly repent of it, it will never get out of the dark shadow of history nor keep its existence, far from winning trust from other countries.
