DPRK Makes Big Efforts to Develop Nano Technology
Pyongyang, August 7 (KCNA) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea has taken measures to develop nano technology.

In November Juche 91 (2002), it organized the Korean Nano Technology Association under the State Science and Technology Commission.

The association has published the magazine "Korean Nano Technology Association" since 2009.

Paek Un Yong, secretary of the Korean Nano Technology Association, told KCNA:

The State Nano-technology Center was newly organized in April this year.

Research into nano technology has been carried on by the Nano Technology Institute of the State Academy of Sciences, the Agricultural Nano Technology Institute of the Academy of Agricultural Science, the Nano-technology Institute of Kim Il Sung University, etc.

The institutes, equipped with latest facilities, are intensifying the research into nano technology, which will be conducive to economic development and the improvement of people's livelihood.

The country has paid deep attention to training nano scientists and funneled a large amount of funds into its development and application.

National nano technology shows have been held annually to introduce achievements in research in nano technology and nano products.

The country also actively participates in the international nano technology presentations, sharing experiences gained in developing the technology with other countries.

Hundreds of local scientists won academic degrees in this field.

The 10th National Nano Technology Show, held some days ago, gives a glimpse of the development of the nation's nano science.
