DPRK's War Victory Day Marked in Bulgaria
Pyongyang, August 2 (KCNA) -- Atanas Ivanov, honorary chairman of the Bulgarian Communist Union, made public a statement on July 26 to mark the 60th anniversary of the Korean people's victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.

He said:

The young DPRK beat back the invasion by the U.S., the boss of the imperialists, and its allied forces and emerged victorious. This marked an event of great significance not only in the struggle of the Korean people for freedom and independence but also for the world socialist cause and the cause of independence against imperialism.

Six decades have passed since the ceasefire, but peace has not settled on the Korean Peninsula and the U.S. imperialists and their allies have become evermore undisguised in their moves to stifle socialist Korea economically and put it under their military occupation.

But the might of socialist Korea has been increased incomparably.

Under the Songun leadership of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il the DPRK has become a world political and military power with tremendous military muscle.

Another illustrious commander Kim Jong Un is steering the sacred war of the Korean people to protect the security of the country and socialism from the persistent offensive of the U.S. imperialists and their allied forces.

The DPRK is sure to win a final victory thanks to the wise leadership of the dear respected Kim Jong Un and the single-minded unity of all people united close behind him.

The U.S. should face up to the situation, give up the attempt to stifle socialist Korea, dismantle the illegal "UN Command" in south Korea and opt for concluding a peace treaty with the DPRK.
