Withdrawal of U.S. Troops from S. Korea Urged by International Body
Pyongyang, July 28 (KCNA) -- The Afro-Asian People's Solidarity Organization released a statement on July 22 to mark the 60th anniversary of the Korean people's victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War.

Extending warm congratulations to the Korean people marking the 60th anniversary of the victory in the war, the statement said:

The Korean people worked such a miracle as shattering the myth of U.S. "mightiness" by bringing about a great victory in the war ignited by the U.S. under the wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung, an invincible and iron-willed commander.

World progressive mankind is still remembering with deep emotion the undying exploits the President performed by beating back the aggression by U.S. imperialism and leading the showdown with the U.S. to victory.

The U.S. has hindered the reunification of Korea and escalated tension in a bid to realize its strategy to dominate the world for six decades since the end of the war.

We strongly urge it to dismantle the illegal and anachronistic "UN Command" at once, replace the Armistice Agreement by a peace treaty and unconditionally pull its forces out of south Korea.

And we extend full support and solidarity to the Korean people in their just struggle to independently and peacefully reunify the country by their concerted efforts by removing the confrontation between the north and the south and implementing the joint declarations, free from interference by outsiders.
