Syrian Charge d 'Affaires ad Interim Hosts Reception
Pyongyang, July 25 (KCNA) -- Syrian Charge d 'Affaires ad interim Haissam Saad hosted a reception at his embassy on Thursday to mark the 60th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War (FLW).

Present there on invitation were Choe Thae Bok, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), Ri Ryong Nam, minister of Foreign Trade, Pak Kun Gwang, vice department director of the C.C., WPK, and officials concerned.

Present there were the Syrian delegation headed by Abdullah al-Ahmar, deputy general secretary of the Syria's Baath Arab Socialist Party, and a staff member of the embassy.

Haissam Saad said that he was pleased to greet the 60th anniversary of the victory in the war together with the Korean people.

The friendly relations between Syria and the DPRK provided by Hafez Al-Assad and President Kim Il Sung have been developed by Bashar Al-Assad and Marshal Kim Jong Un, he noted.

He said he was very thankful that Kim Jong Un received the Syrian delegation.

He warmly congratulated the Korean people who are holding such great man as Kim Jong Un as their supreme leader.

Choe Thae Bok said that the friends of Syria are celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Korean people's victory in the FLW like their holiday, adding that this encourages the Korean people vigorously advancing for the final victory in the struggle for building a thriving socialist nation under the leadership of the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un.

60 years ago the Korean people defeated U.S. imperialism under the leadership of the great Generalissimo Kim Il Sung, an invincible and iron-willed commander and outstanding military strategist, he stressed, adding:

The WPK and the DPRK government will extend full support and solidarity to the fraternal Syrian government and people in their just struggle for defending sovereignty, peace and security of the country.
