NDC Gives Banquet for Chinese War Veterans Delegations
Pyongyang, July 25 (KCNA) -- The National Defence Commission (NDC) of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea hosted a banquet at Pyongyang Koryo Hotel Thursday in honor of the delegation of war veterans of the Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) and the delegation of war veterans and families of martyrs of the CPV who are here to take part in the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the Korean people's victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.

Present there on invitation were the members of the delegations and staff members of the Chinese embassy here.

On hand were Kim Yong Chun, vice-chairman of the NDC, generals and officers of the Korean People's Army.

Kim Yong Chun in his speech said that the great victory in the Fatherland Liberation War is associated with the blood shed by the brave fighters of the CPV who fought on the Korean fronts in hearty response to the call of Mao Zedong, the great leader of the Chinese people, and the Chinese party and government.

He went on:

Supreme Commander Kim Jong Un is paying deep attention to boosting the DPRK-China friendship, true to the high intention of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il.

The DPRK will as ever make joint efforts with Chinese comrades to further develop the bilateral friendly relations.

Yu Zhenwu, former commander of the Air Force of the Chinese People's Liberation Army who is heading the delegation of war veterans delegation of the CPV, said that the Chinese people fought shoulder to shoulder with the Korean people and won a victory in the struggle against the common enemies, holding high the banner of resisting America and aiding Korea, safeguarding the home and defending the motherland, and thus made the U.S. imperialists sign the document of the Armistice Agreement.

He expressed belief that the Sino-DPRK friendship sealed in blood thanks to the joint efforts of the two peoples would steadily grow strong in the future, too.
