Prior to the meeting, the participants laid floral baskets and bouquets before the statue of President Kim Il Sung on Janam Hill in Kaesong and paid tribute.

It was attended by delegations and delegates of friendship and solidarity organizations from different countries and international bodies and other foreign guests, the chief of the Pyongyang mission of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front and overseas Koreans.

Choe Jin Su, presidium member of the Central Committee of the Democratic Front for the Reunification of Korea, Kim Jin Bom, vice-chairman of the Korean Committee for Solidarity with the World People who doubles as vice-chairman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries, officials concerned and people in the city.

The floor was taken by Harun-Ar-Rashid, chairman of the Bangladesh-Korea Friendship and Solidarity Committee, Viktor Yegorov, chairman of the Karelia-DPRK Friendship Association of Russia, Dermot Hudson, vice-chairman of the British Friendship Society with Korea, and Fumihiro Himori, chairman of the Japan Committee for Supporting the Independent and Peaceful Reunification of Korea.

They said that visiting Panmunjom they deeply felt sufferings the Korean people are undergoing due to the national division and clearly realized the reason why Korea still remains divided.

They noted that a nuclear war is averted on the Korean Peninsula and peace is preserved entirely thanks to the consistent efforts of the DPRK.

Pak Yong Phal, chairman of the Kaesong City People's Committee, said in his speech that the Korean people will firmly defend the sovereignty of the country, step up the building of a thriving nation and reunify the country without fail, true to the leadership of the dear respected Kim Jong Un.

A letter to Kim Jong Un from the participants of the grand international peace march was adopted and a declaration in the name of the participants was read out at the meeting.
