Panmunjom Draws Many Foreigners, Overseas Koreans
Pyongyang, July 24 (KCNA) -- Many foreigners and overseas Koreans are now visiting Panmunjom, where the army and people of the DPRK forced the U.S. imperialist aggressors to sign the document of surrender on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War (Korean War).

More than 599 000 people of at least 39 700 foreign organizations and overseas Koreans organizations have visited Panmunjom since the ceasefire.

There are the monument to the document on national reunification autographed by President Kim Il Sung, the room where armistice talks were held, the hall where the armistice agreement was signed, Panmun Pavilion, Thongil House and others at Panmunjom.

Visitors are deeply impressed to hear the story that the army and people of the DPRK humbled the arrogance of the U.S. imperialists who boasted of being "the strongest" in the world and won a victory in the Korean War on July 27, 1953.

Military Attache of the Iranian Embassy here Hassan Reza Husseini wrote in the visitor's book that under the leadership of Kim Il Sung the Korean people achieved a shining victory in the Korean War.

This serves as an example for the world progressives who are waging a dynamic struggle for independence against imperialism, he added.

Korean in Brazil Kim Hak Gu said that the U.S. imperialists have gone downhill since they were defeated in the Korean war, adding that they should not forget the historical bitter lesson.

The representative of the Yemeni Council for Peace and Unity said that the danger of war can never be defused on the Korean Peninsula as long as the U.S. imperialists remain in south Korea. In order to ensure peace in Korea, it is necessary for the U.S. imperialists immediately withdraw from south Korea, taking with them their nuclear weapons, the representative stressed.
