DPRK Directs Efforts to Protection of Marine Resources
Pyongyang, July 15 (KCNA) -- April and July are months for protection of marine resources in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

In the months, local fishing stations and fish farms pay particular attention to protecting and increasing marine resources.

Fishing stations in Wonsan and Thongchon have made big efforts to build habitats for various species of fish, including trepang, sea-ear and sea urchin.

The Hongwon Fishing Station built a marine resource reserve around the Juk Islet, while the Sonbong Fishing Station put tens of thousands of salmon fries in the stream of Josul Pass on the basis of analysis of its water quality.

The Pupho and Ongjin offshore farms have expanded tangle and laver culture grounds, while protecting seashell's habitats.

Fish farms across the country have installed various kinds of facilities in lakes and rivers to promote the growth of freshwater fish.
