Kim Il Sung Unfolds Grand Blueprint for Postwar Rehabilitation and Construction during Fatherland Liberation War
Pyongyang, July 14 (KCNA) -- President Kim Il Sung looked far into the future of the country which won a victory in the grim period of the Fatherland Liberation War, firmly believing in the strength of the army and people, and unfolded a bright blueprint for the postwar rehabilitation and construction.

At the Third Plenary Meeting of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea in December, Juche 39 (1950), the President set forth the task for making preparations for the postwar rehabilitation and construction while pushing forward the wartime production.

In January, 1951 he taught officials in the field of city design to work out a general blueprint for rehabilitation and construction of Pyongyang after the war and build it to be modern and cultural, not just restoring it to its original state.

At a Congress of Scientists in April, 1952 he made speech "For the Development of Sciences in Our Country" and at a Meeting of the Political Committee of the WPK Central Committee in June, 1953 a concluding speech "On the Orientation for Postwar Economic Reconstruction", indicating the basic orientation of rehabilitation and construction of the national economy.

He also made speech "The Prospects of the Fatherland Liberation War and the Tasks of the University" before the faculty and students of Kim Il Sung University in April, 1952 in which he indicated the tasks for surveying and bringing under control the natural resources of the country and carrying out the study for their rational use for the postwar rehabilitation and construction.

In speech made at a conference of the DPRK Cabinet in September the same year "On Carrying Out the Reclamation of Northern Plateaus" he reviewed the achievements made by members of a survey group and indicated the orientation and ways for building an agro-stock farm in the northern plateaus.

He made sure that a revolutionary measure was taken to summon many combatants on the front to universities and colleges for the training of national cadres essential for the postwar rehabilitation and construction and socialist construction.

He saw to it that big machine production bases are built in Huichon and different other parts of the country and sent technicians as well as equipment, materials and funds needed for the construction and operation. He also instructed officials to create forest resources and conduct the work of seeding-selection well.

He also taught to send survey groups made up of university teachers, students and technicians to different parts of the country so that they can make researches for the effective use of natural resources of the country. He, at the same time, pushed forward the preparations for the socialist transformation of production relations after the war.

Under his wise guidance the preparations for the postwar rehabilitation and construction made rapid progress.
