DPRK Busy with Preparations to Mark War Victory Day
Pyongyang, July 12 (KCNA) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea is seething with preparations for significantly celebrating the 60th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War (June 25, 1950-July 27, 1953).

Military organs, ministries and national institutions are cultivating flowers with sincerity to be displayed at the Kimilsungia-Kimjongilia show marking the anniversary. A work is in full swing to spruce up the show venue on a large scale and in a peculiar way.

The Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum is close to its opening. It will showcase the fighting spirit the Korean army and people displayed under the command of President Kim Il Sung to defeat the U.S. imperialist aggressors and defend the freedom and independence of the country in the war. Thanks to the devoted efforts of soldier-builders, officials concerned, creators and researchers, the museum has been rebuilt successfully in a short period to be a monumental edifice for conveying the President's feats for war victory, a base for anti-U.S. education and a center for education in the tradition of victories.

The Cemetery of Fallen Fighters of the Korean People's Army under construction in Pyongyang is nearing its completion, while similar cemeteries in other parts of the country are being rebuilt.

The servicepersons and civilians of the country bring about a great upsurge on all fronts of building a thriving nation, creating another "Masikryong Speed", to adorn the war victory day as a grand festival of victors.

Those servicepersons involved in the construction of the ski resort on Masik Pass wound up the laying of 10 skiing courses by raising the construction speed twice. They are now speeding up the project for widening roads and building dwelling houses, an underground parking lot, hotel and dozens of structures.

The Sepho tableland reclaimers carried out plowing of thousands of hectares and seeding in time in order to turn the tableland into a large-scale stockbreeding base.

Signal successes are also made in the construction of the Munsu Wading Pool, Mirim Riding Club and the second-phase Huichon Power Station, the projects for expanding the Kosan Fruit Farm and building the gravity-fed waterway in South Hwanghae Province and other major construction sites in the country.

The workers in the leading economic sectors, including light industry, are increasing the production.

Meanwhile, the preparations for such celebration events as the grand gymnastic and artistic performance "Arirang" are going on at the final stage. The performance of "Arirang", a winner of Kim Il Sung Prize, is to start at May Day Stadium on July 22.
