S. Korean IS Accused of Its Foolish Action
Pyongyang, July 11 (KCNA) -- The south Korean newspaper Hangyore in an editorial on July 8 accused the Intelligence Service (IS) of its foolish action.

The editorial recalled that a spokesman for the IS in a recent press conference made such astonishing remarks that the minutes of the south-north summit in 2007 was worked out with an aim to gather information, an inherent job of the IS, and that the minutes it prepared in October, 2007 to hand over to Chongwadae was no more than an intermediate version and it has kept the finial version worked out in January, 2008, without handing it over to Chongwadae.

This is just an example showing what awful way of thinking the IS has, the editorial said, and went on:

It is stunning, indeed, that an intelligence organ had an access to what the "president" said at the summit for the purpose of "gathering information."

These unimaginable remarks made by the IS spokesman at a press conference, unhindered, indicate that the IS has reached the height in understanding of the twisted reality and arrogant attitude.

The same can be said of the tape recorder used during the summit.

The spokesman said that Chongwadae should return the recorder as it belongs to the IS.

Unbelievable is the explanation that the recorder belonged to the IS in view of the situation which prevailed at that time. So, more deplorable is the IS's contention that it has the ownership of the minutes as the recorder belongs to it.

This clearly explains why the IS reform is so urgent.

The IS should no longer be allowed to exercise dangerous power as it goes reckless, unaware of the main principle of gathering and preservation of information.
