Kim Il Sung's Optimistic Life Characterized by Songs
Pyongyang, July 8 (KCNA) -- President Kim Il Sung was a great sage who always lived an optimistic life under whatever circumstances.

It was his lifelong view of life that man should live and work in an optimistic way along with songs.

Once in his lifetime, he recalled that he overcame all sorts of trials at all stages of revolution, inspired by songs.

During the anti-Japanese armed struggle, he personally wrote revolutionary works like "Sea of Blood", "The Flower Girl", "Blood at an International Conference", "The Fate of a Self-defence Corps Man", "The Mountain Shrine" and song "Nostalgia".

On the occasion of leader Kim Jong Il's 50th birthday, he composed a poem "Shining Star".

"Mt. Myohyang on an Autumn Day" is a lyric poem composed by him.

He recalled that he crossed the River Amnok, singing the "Song of the River Amnok", when he was 14 years old. At that time he made a grim resolve not to return before Korea became independent.

His favorite songs were "Revolutionary", "Nostalgia", "Song of Sea" and "Song of Chollima Forerunner".

It was well known that he sang the song "Nostalgia" at a dinner with heroes and model soldiers in June Juche 40 (1951).

He saw to it that revolutionary songs swept the whole of the country, as an impetus to registering fresh innovations in economic sectors and construction.
