Minju Joson Lays Bare Illegality of "UN Command"
Pyongyang, July 8 (KCNA) -- The DPRK permanent representative at the UN on June 21 clarified the stand of the DPRK government for the dismantlement of the "UN Command", a ghost mechanism which does not exist in actuality.

Minju Joson Monday in a bylined commentary says this has elicited understanding and sympathy from broad international community as it is a just demand that took into due consideration the situation prevailing on the Korean Peninsula and the composition and operation of the command.

The command is ghost mechanism which the U.S. illegally fabricated in a bid to draw troops of its satellites into invasion of the DPRK during the Korean war in the 1950s, the commentary says, and goes on:

No troops of these satellites can now be found in the command.

In fact, the U.S. is the only country that remains in the command under the helmet of the "UN Forces". Strange is that the command is confronting UN member nations now that the DPRK has become a UN member nation and China, one signatory to the Korean Armistice Agreement, a permanent member nation of the UN Security Council. That is why the UN itself was compelled to admit that the command does not represent the UN.

With no rhetoric can the U.S. justify its hostile policy toward the DPRK as it is resorting to the moves for stifling the DPRK by force of arms by abusing the name of the UN.

The U.S. should respond to the just demand of the DPRK, bearing in mind that it can never evade the blame for wrecking peace on the Korean Peninsula.
