Rodong Sinmun on Friday observes in a bylined article in this regard:

The U.S. new defense strategy published in January 2012 is aimed at laying a siege to other power in Asia and containing it by force of arms so that it may not stand up against the U.S.

It is the ulterior intention of the U.S. to prefer forming such allied forces in such a crafty way as reviving the role of the command which exists in name only to creating a new body in order to calm down the rebuff of countries concerned.

It is another strategic calculation of the U.S. to keep a firm grip on south Korea as an advanced base and servant for a war of aggression for dominating the Asia-Pacific region by reviving the function of the command under the rapidly changing situation.

What merits particular attention is that the command is nothing but a tool for igniting the second Korean War.

Having transferred its military and strategic pivot to the Asia-Pacific region to dominate the world, the U.S. regards it as a primary target to put the whole of Korea under its control in order to secure a bridgehead to advance into Eurasia. And it is seeking a way out of its serious economic crisis in unleashing the second Korean War.

To dismantle the command at once or not serves as a touchstone showing whether the U.S. wants peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and in the Asia-Pacific region or not, or whether it seeks the revival of the Cold War or not.

The article demands an immediate disbandment of the command, a U.S. tool for provoking a war on the peninsula, the worst flashpoint in the world.
