Why Does U.S. Attaches So Great Importance to Okinawa
Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- The U.S. is massively deploying its forces in Okinawa as it regards the island as the most important outpost for carrying out its pivot to Asia-Pacific strategy, says Rodong Sinmun Wednesday in a bylined article.

There are in the Asia-Pacific region not a few potential rivals of the U.S., the article notes, and goes on:

It is the view of U.S. strategists that Washington's victory of its world strategy hinges on how to establish its control over the Asia-Pacific region. It is the viewpoint of U.S. policy-makers that if it is to put Asia under its control, it should grab the whole of Korea and only then is it possible for the U.S. to realize its world strategy with ease.

Regarding it as a main link in the chain efforts to carry out its Asia-Pacific strategy to put the Korean Peninsula under its control, the U.S. imperialists seek to invade the DPRK by force of arms, occupy the whole of Korea and, furthermore, dominate Asia and the rest of the world. But the U.S. is seriously mistaken.

The U.S. base on Okinawa is exposed to any strike.

Its neighboring powers are following Okinawa with heightened vigilance as the U.S. pursues a sinister aim to ward off their impact, contain the expansion of the sphere of their influence and realize its wild ambition for world domination at any cost.

The U.S. would be well advised to give up a foolish daydream and behave itself.
