The letter extended deep thanks, moved by the care shown for miraculously saving their son from the jaw of death under the socialist healthcare system.

It was October last just two months after the birth of their son Rim Wi Hun that he was diagnosed as ventricular septal defect accompanied by pulmonary hypotension, congenital heart disease.

He was first admitted to the Children's Hospital in South Hwanghae Province and then to the Heart Vein Surgery of Pyongyang Medical College Hospital of Kim Il Sung University. He has received intensive treatment for 40 days and heart operation on January 15.

The hospital used artificial lung, more than 20 modern medical equipment and hundreds of expensive injections of at least 30 kinds for the treatment for the baby.

In the future, the baby will receive general medical examination once every six months at the Central Children's Hospital to be built under the loving care of Kim Jong Un.

The couple in the letter extended profound thanks to Kim Jong Un, deeply moved by the warm care shown by him for their son. In their letter the couple noted that Rim Wi Hun, a son of an ordinary military family, received such heart operation free of charge though such operation would cost hundreds of thousands of U.S. dollars in other countries.

The 90 days my son spent at the hospital were an unforgettable period in which we family keenly realized under what benevolent system we have lived and what profound meaning is reflected in the words that the whole country is a big harmonious family whose father is the Marshal, the letter noted, and went on:

Strongly beating in the body of our son is the heart completely cured thanks to your love for the people and the younger generation.

They evinced their resolution to bring up their son as a stalwart soldier devotedly defending the leader and become a model family in the unit by working hard for his service personnel.
