Japan Accused of Evading Apology, Reparation for Past Crimes
Pyongyang, June 27 (KCNA) -- On June 7 the British government made an official apology to Kenya, its former colony, for its past crimes.

Rodong Sinmun Thursday observes in a bylined commentary in this regard:

Japan is blatantly challenging the universal cognition of history by the international community.

It employed the whole gamut of intrigues to bury the crime-woven history into oblivion at first and is now evading the liquidation of the past blood-stained crimes, justifying them as "cause of justice". Top-class war criminals who spearheaded the Asia-Pacific war are being praised as "heroes", and even voices calling Japan's military occupation rule over Korea "legitimate" are ringing out in Japan.

Textbooks deleting the heinous unethical criminal acts and beautifying the history of aggression are openly distributed. It is only Japan which has gone so shameless and base as to fabricate and distort the historical fact in the first half of the 20th century, the disastrous events that happened in relations with neighboring countries, in particular.

The shameless and despicable behavior of Japan doggedly evading the inglorious past is being justified with absurd logic that admission and liquidation of the past crimes "mean maltreating oneself".

Japan is persisting in its wrong attitude and stand toward the past crimes, and the moves for twisting history are becoming ever more pronounced. Lurking behind this is its ambition to make such history repeat itself.

But the Japanese authorities should clearly know that only disgrace and ruin will be brought to Japan wriggling in the nightmare of militarism. Japan would be well advised to ponder over its destiny and future and follow the trend of the present times that has undergone change.
