Rainy Spell to Begin in Mid-July in DPRK
Pyongyang, June 17 (KCNA) -- Most areas of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea have experienced rainfall beginning Monday morning.

In this regard, KCNA met Pang Sun Nyo, department director of the Hydro-meteorological Service.

Pang said:

Rainy front has not yet formed on the Korean Peninsula. It is now staying at around 30 degrees north latitude.

Rainy spell begins on around July 4 every year in Pyongyang and other central areas of the country.

The current rainfall is caused by low pressure trough that was formed in the northern part of the West Sea of Korea, affected by the warm air coming from mainland China on Sunday to meet with the cold air from the north of the 40 degrees north latitude.

The rainfall will go on until Tuesday and there will no rainfall for a while. There will be rainfall in late June.

The rainy spell for this year is expected to begin in around mid-July, during which some areas south of the River Chongchon are likely to be hit by downpour.
