Revision of SOFA Demanded in S. Korea
Pyongyang, June 17 (KCNA) -- Opposition parties of south Korea on June 13 urged the "government" authorities to revise the humiliating "Status of Forces Agreement" (SOFA) with the U.S., 11 years since the cruel murder of schoolgirls Sin Hyo Sun and Sim Mi Son by U.S. imperialist aggressor troops.

A spokesman for the Unified Progressive Party in a commentary deplored that ten years have passed since two schoolgirls were killed by a U.S. armored car in the bloom of youth but the promise made before their soul has not yet been fulfilled.

The commentary said that GIs' crimes are still unabated due to the unequal SOFA, which had been worked out in favor of the U.S. forces.

This being a hard reality, the present chief executive is loudmouthed about the alliance with the U.S., far from referring to the revision of the humiliating agreement and, consequently, she is cursed by the people, noted the commentary.

The Democratic Party at a seminar held at the hall of lawmakers deplored that it is impossible to take positive actions because the SOFA prevents a proper investigation into GI criminals caught red-handed and any measure to be taken against GI offenders who took to flight unless they are summoned.

The Democratic Party demanded an action to push forward the revision of the unequal agreement, probe into the truth behind the GIs' crimes and reparation to the victims and bereaved families.
