Present there were officials in the field of public health, voluntary blood donors and employees of the center. Also present were members of missions of international organizations including the acting representative of the WHO mission in the DPRK and the delegation of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies working in the DPRK.

Speeches were made at the event.

The speakers referred to the significance of the Day and blood transfusion services now under way with the help of the WHO and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.

They called for safe blood transfusion for people's health and life.

The participants enjoyed a performance given by the Workers' Art Group of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea and looked round photos on display.

The Day was also observed in each province on the same day.
