Yun Hui Suk, representative of the Youth Solidarity, recalled that the north proposed joint national events marking the 13th anniversary of the June 15 joint declaration.

Yun accused the Ministry of Unification of refusing a golden opportunity of settling the crisis in the Kaesong Industrial Zone and restoring the relations between the south and the north.

Ri Chang Bok, permanent chairman of the South Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration, said the declaration contains not only humanitarian issue, reunion of separated families and their relatives and economic cooperation but the spirit of independence and reunification.

Pak Tok Sin, permanent representative of the Seoul Headquarters of the South Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration, noted that the south-north relations which had been worsened during the Lee Myung Bak regime were pushed to the lowest ebb due to the crisis of the Kaesong Industrial Zone after the emergence of the present regime.

He urged the regime to sincerely opt for holding the joint national events and contribute to improving the inter-Korean relations.
