Vital Rights of Workers Demanded in S. Korea
Pyongyang, June 8 (KCNA) -- The south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions staged actions outside the puppet government central building and the building of the "Saenuri Party" and in other places on June 4 and 5 in demand of the guarantee of the vital rights of the workers.

At a meeting in Youido, Seoul on June 5 speakers accused the present chief executive of not taking any measure for settling the issue of Ssangyong Motors though 100 days have passed since she took office after making an election commitment to making a state investigation into the issue.

They recalled that there go on actions of workers against lay-off and for the abolition of part-time jobs including sit-strikes on iron pylons that have been under way for more than 230 consecutive days before the Ulsan Factory of Hyundai Motors.

During the Lee Myung Bak regime, workers were beaten and driven out to streets and nothing has changed even under the present regime, they charged.

Just are the demands of the people for abolishing the part-time jobs and lay-off, they declared, urging the authorities to lift discriminations in society and enforce a fair distribution.

They called for dynamic actions to abolish part-time jobs, win basic labor right and check the privatization of the public sector.
