Concealment of Secret Funds of Chun Doo Hwan's Family Disclosed in S. Korea
Pyongyang, June 7 (KCNA) -- The south Korean newspaper Kyunghyang Daily News on June 3 carried an editorial disclosing the fact that former military dictator Chun Doo Hwan and his family members tried to conceal secret funds they illegally amassed.

The editorial said it was disclosed on June 2 that the eldest son of Chun had operated a bogus company overseas for six years after setting it up.

As for the area where the company was set up, some south Korean big businessmen had often used it for tax evasion and amassing of illicit funds, it said, and went on:

The fact that the minutes of the company's council carry the sign of the eldest son of Chun and other facts prove that he was related to the bogus company.

It was disclosed that he got nervous when he failed to open an overseas account for saving money after establishing the company, in particular. This fact alone is enough to prove that he was suspected of concealing the secret funds.

It is by no means a pure coincidence that the bogus company was established when the investigation into the secret funds of Chun Doo Hwan was at its height.

It is necessary not to allow Chun Doo Hwan's family to lead a luxurious life with the illegally accumulated wealth down through generations, the editorial said, urging the prosecution authorities to thoroughly investigate the case, retrieve all the secret funds and punish those involved.
