Pyongyang, June 2 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Marshal Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, inspected KPA posts defending Mt. Osong and KPA Unit 507 on Sunday.

He was accompanied by KPA General Kim Kyok Sik, chief of the KPA General Staff, KPA Col. Gen. Pak Jong Chon, Lieut. Gen. An Ji Yong, Choe Hwi, first vice department director of the WPK Central Committee and Pak Thae Song, vice department director of the WPK Central Committee.

After receiving a salute from the commander of KPA Large Combined Unit 549, he looked round the monument to the field guidance erected to hand down to posterity the Songun leadership exploits performed by leader Kim Jong Il before dropping in at its forward command post.

He was briefed in detail on the positions and movements of the enemy troops with which the unit is standing in confrontation and learned in detail about topography there.

Receiving a report on the duty of the unit and the situation, he expressed great satisfaction over the fact that it assigned operational and combat duties in line with the intention of the Supreme Command and is always keeping itself fully combat ready.

Stressing the need for the commanding officers and men of the unit to firmly prepare themselves politically and ideologically and in military technique to beat back any enemy's invasion at a single strike, he gave them precious instructions to do so.

He looked round the watch post of KPA unit 785.

He learned about the performance of duty by a serviceman on guard duty.

He dropped in at the bedroom of the platoon defending the watch post and met with its service personnel.

He said he was pleased to meet service personnel on Mt. Osong, adding he wished to see them.

He gave the platoon a pair of binoculars and an automatic rifle as gifts and had a picture taken with them.

He went round the bedroom, education room and mess hall of the Third Company of the First Battalion under KPA Unit 565 to pay deep attention to the living of service personnel.

He gave the company a pair of binoculars, au automatic rifle and a machine gun as gifts and had a photo session with service personnel.

Kim Jong Il lived, always thinking of the service personnel of Mt. Osong, Kim Jong Un said, adding he visited there, carrying with him this feeling. He told them to stand by his side one by one before having a photo taken with them.

He reposed the deepest trust in them, saying that the people sleep in peace and the Supreme Commander feels reassured as the sentinels on the forefront are defending the gate to the country as firm as an iron wall.

Then he visited the post on Kkachil Peak.

He told the soldiers there as follows:

"There is a road to your hometown behind you where your beloved parents, brothers and sisters live. Always remember this. This is not a far-flung post at all. Your Supreme Commander is always with you. I'll frequently visit Mt. Osong."

He had a photo session with the soldiers, having them in his arms.

He visited the Command of KPA Unit 507.

After receiving a salute, he dropped in at the operation study room where he received a report on the unit's performance of duty and trainings.

Noting the mission of the unit is very important, he indicated important tasks which would serve as guidelines for the unit in rounding off its combat preparations.

Mt. Osong and Chol Pass are witnesses and symbols of Songun revolutionary leadership, he said.

Expressing expectation and belief that the service personnel of the unit would reliably defend the forefront post of the socialist homeland, he had a photo session with them.
