Pyongyangites Warmly Welcome World Table Tennis Gold Medalists
Pyongyang, May 30 (KCNA) -- DPRK paddlers Kim Hyok Bong and Kim Jong returned home on Thursday after bagging gold medals in mixed doubles of the 52nd ITTF World Championships (individual events) held in Paris.

When a plane landed, people and sportspersons in Pyongyang warmly welcomed the gold medalists.

They were greeted by Choe Thae Bok, secretary of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea, Ri Yong Su, department director of the C.C., the WPK, Ri Jong Mu, minister of Physical Culture and Sports, Jon Yong Nam, chairman of the C.C., the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League, and other officials concerned.

The players paid floral tribute to the portraits of smiling President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il.

Sportspersons congratulated the players on their success in the matches, presenting garlands and bouquets to them.

Acknowledging the cheers of the crowd, the players headed for the city by car.

Pyongyangites warmly congratulated the players along the routes from the entrance of Ryonmot-dong to Ryonghung crossroads and Kaesonmun, Changjon and other streets.

Kim Hyok Bong and Kim Jong, overcome with deep thanks to the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un, pledged to raise the DPRK flag in more international games.

They laid bouquets before the statues of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il on Mansu Hill and paid tribute to them before making a report of victory and glory to them.
