S. Korean Authorities' Moves to Revive "Yusin" Dictatorship Denounced
Pyongyang, May 30 (KCNA) -- The south Korean authorities recently disallowed the singing of the song "March for the Love" which has been traditionally sung in the memorial event of the Kwangju Popular Uprising. Meanwhile, they let ultra-right conservative media release misinformation that the Kwangju Popular Uprising broke out "with a special unit of the north involved".

Rodong Sinmun Thursday says in a bylined commentary in this regard:

This is a revelation of the attempt to revive the fascist dictatorship as it is aimed to defame the tradition of the sanguinary struggle of the people for democracy and bring its precious achievements to naught.

These actions of the present puppet authorities of south Korea indicate that the conservative forces' bid to turn south Korean society entirely conservative and fascist has reached its height, the commentary notes, and goes on:

Their attempt to ban the above-said song which even their predecessors dared not do reminds the people of the revived "yusin constitution".

It is the sinister scenario of the present puppet ruling quarters of south Korea to dampen the spirit of the progressive forces by labeling the Kwangju Popular Uprising as a riot staged by the "group following the north," arrest their actions and reinforce the conservative base by fascist suppression in an effort to create conditions favorable for their long-term office.

It was to serve the above-said purpose that the group decried the uprising as a "riot of mobs backed by a special unit of the north."

The desperate efforts of the conservative group to defame the history of the just struggle of the people for independence, democracy and reunification and escalate the moves to revive the "yusin" dictatorship are as foolish acts as tightening the noose around its own neck.
