Damage Done by Tick Spreads in S. Korea
Pyongyang, May 29 (KCNA) -- Damage done by tick is spreading in south Korea, according to south Korean broadcasting services.

Tick known to be parasitic on cattle, dogs, etc. claimed casualties in different countries.

Some days ago, an old man in his seventies who had been eking out his living by raising cattle in Sogwipho City on Jeju Island died of intense fever, vomiting, etc. Another person was reported to have died of the same disease there on May 27.

The results of investigation proved that they were infected with virus spread by tick.

Similar cases occurred in Seoul, Pusan, Taegu, North Chungchong and south Korean Kangwon provinces and other areas.

Several persons have died or dozens of others have fallen seriously ill in south Korea due to tick since April 30.
