Rodong Sinmun Slams Japan's Aim to Set Up "National Security Council"
Pyongyang, May 29 (KCNA) -- The Japanese reactionaries' moves to set up the "National Security Council" aimed at overseas aggression are a very dangerous scenario to push the situation in Northeast Asia, on the Korean Peninsula, in particular, to the brink of a war. Rodong Sinmun Wednesday says this in a bylined article.

The Japanese authorities claim that the situation in the vicinity of Japan remaining complicated and someone's "threat" to it are the very reason why they are going to create such council but this is nothing but sheer hypocrisy, the article notes, and goes on:

They seek to discuss and decide on a preemptive attack on the DPRK at the projected "National Security Council" while vociferating about "security of Japan" and the DPRK's military "threat." Their ultimate goal is to realize their ambition for staging a comeback to Korea.

This is evidenced by the fact that while citing "threat" from the DPRK in the "defense programme guidelines" to be revised by them, they openly revealed their scenario for a preemptive attack on the DPRK, pushing for Japan's acquisition of the capability to attack the enemy's bases to cope with missile attacks.

Their moves to step up the conversion of Japan into a military giant and turn it into a state for a war of aggression through the council are a grave challenge to progressive mankind aspiring after global peace and stability.

The article calls upon the world progressive peace-loving people to be vigilant against Japan's moves to create the council.
