Indian Paper Supports Korean People's Efforts to Defend Sovereignty
Pyongyang, May 26 (KCNA) -- The Indian paper People's Democracy carried an article titled "The U.S. threat to Asia can not be overlooked" contributed by Suneet Chopra, secretary general of the All India Indo-Korean Friendship Association who is a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), on April 28.

The U.S. does not give up its strategy of strangling the DPRK, despite its repeated defeats during the past more than half a century, the article said, and went on:

The U.S. line is to help Japan rearm and south Korea realize its ambition for nuclear armament.

It introduces its cutting-edge weapons into areas of the Korean Peninsula. Such development of the situation is ascribable to the U.S. tactics, not the "threat from the DPRK".

The U.S. and its satellite forces dare not provoke the Korean people who have turned out to defend the sovereignty.

This is evidenced with added clarity by the recent events.

The U.S. failed to implement its commitment to build light water reactors for the DPRK, compelling the latter to take such measure as restarting the idled nuclear reactor.

This clearly shows that the DPRK's nuclear facility is being used for peaceful purposes.

However, the U.S. totally ignores such stark fact.

Serious is that it cooked up the "resolution on sanctions" against the DPRK, taking issue with its legitimate satellite launch in last December.

This is, in fact, the undisguised hostile act against the DPRK and threat to the peace of not only East Asia but the world.

It is a lesson drawn from the present situation that Asian countries should unite and stand up against the U.S. threat.

The experience gained by the DPRK is very precious and essential for us in coping with the U.S. double-standard moves, concluded the article.
