DPRK's Strong Stand Praised by Egyptian Figure
Pyongyang, May 22 (KCNA) -- Yehia Zakaria Khairullah, vice chairman of the Socialist Freedom Party of Egypt, carried a commentary titled "DPRK raises a banner of resistance" on the May 2 issue of the paper Sautl Balad.

The paper said:

The DPRK successfully launched a satellite in December last year according to a peaceful plan for developing science and technology to benefit humankind and contribute to economic construction of the country and the improvement of the people's living standard, and conducted a nuclear test in February this year.

World space experts recognized the success made by the DPRK in the field of space.

But the U.S. instigated the UN Security Council to cook up a "resolution on sanctions" against the DPRK.

This was an overt infringement on the DPRK's sovereignty.

Laying bare the U.S. nuclear moves against Pyongyang with historical facts, the paper went on:

Pyongyang was compelled to change its policy to confront the UNSC "resolution on sanctions" and the U.S. hostile policy toward it.

The third underground nuclear test conducted by the DPRK was an expression of its surging resentment against the U.S. double standards.

The nuclear test does not fall foul of international law.

The U.S. has threatened Pyongyang with nuclear weapons for more than half a century and cried out for a preemptive nuclear attack even in the new century. It is, indeed, the very one who compelled the DPRK to possess nukes.

If the U.S. keeps escalating the situation on the Korean Peninsula, the DPRK will take stronger measures to cope with it.
