US Forced DPRK to Have Access to Nukes: Brazilian Paper
Pyongyang, May 17 (KCNA) -- The Brazilian paper Hora do Povo on May 8 carried a commentary titled "It is U.S. which compelled the DPRK to have access to nuclear weapons".

The U.S. is accusing the DPRK of having access to nukes, asserting that the DPRK's possession of nukes should not be tolerated, the commentary said, and went on:

The U.S. has become vocal about the DPRK's access to nukes, in disregard of the essence of the issue of the Korean Peninsula. The DPRK brought into bolder relief the U.S. aim to cover up its true colors as a nuclear criminal and carry out its plan for invading the DPRK.

If the U.S. had not threatened the DPRK with nuclear weapons and had not tried to deprive it of its sovereignty, it would have focused its efforts on improving the standard of people's living and building an economic power.

The DPRK's access to nukes is a step for self-defence and a just act to protect its sovereignty in the face of the U.S. escalating moves for a nuclear war.

The U.S. has posed ceaseless nuclear threats to the DPRK, pursuing the hostile policy toward it for decades.

It is a foolish act for one to counter with empty fists those who come in attack with sword and to counter with stick those who threaten with nuclear weapons.

In order to defend the sovereignty of the country and guarantee the life and security of the people from the escalating U.S. nuclear threats, the DPRK was compelled to have access to nuclear weapons.

It is none other than the U.S. which forced the DPRK to have access to nuclear weapons.
