Tree Planting Gains Momentum in DPRK
Pyongyang, May 8 (KCNA) -- An all-people tree-planting campaign that began in early March in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is now in full swing.

According to data available, about 100 000 hectares of land have been covered with trees throughout the country up till now.

Pyongyang citizens planted various species of high trees and flower plants in the arboretum of the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, revolutionary sites, streets, parks and pleasure grounds, as well as their residential and working places, the number of which totals millions.

In the spring period of the general mobilization for land management, South Hwanghae Province has finished the tree-planting plan ahead of other provinces. Pyoksong, Kangryong and Paechon counties in the province sent more than 50 000 saplings of good species to military units.

More than 10 000 hectares of land were covered with trees in North Hwanghae Province.

Tree planting is going well in other provinces, too.
