Wartime Song "The Dear Home in My Native Village"
Pyongyang, May 7 (KCNA) -- Some days ago, respected Marshal Kim Jong Un enjoyed a concert given by the Unhasu Orchestra at the People's Theatre here to mark May Day.

The concert included a wartime song "The Dear Home in My Native Village" in the form of orchestra and mixed chorus, which deeply moved the audience.

Kim Jong Un, reflecting the feelings of the audience, requested the artistes to repeat the song, noting that it, strong in philosophical nature and full of patriotism, was excellently represented in the spirit of the era.

The song, composed by a famous musician, Ri Myon Sang, in Juche 41 (1952), still enjoys a great popularity among the Korean people. It is based on the mental world of the servicepersons who fought life-and-death battles against the invaders during the Fatherland Liberation War (1950-1953), missing their hometowns.

The servicepersons lived an enjoyable life for five years after the country's liberation from the Japanese colonial rule, farming on their own lands distributed to them in line with the Agrarian Reform Law promulgated by President Kim Il Sung. Seized by feelings of gratitude to Kim Il Sung and the social system, they called the fatherland "Dear home in my native village" and displayed heroism in defence of the country.

The spirit of defending the fatherland displayed by the servicepersons in the wartime has been creditably carried forward by the servicepersons in the present-day Songun (military-first) era.

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea will always remain unperturbed as it is defended by such servicepersons who consider the country to be dearer than any other things.
