U.S. Accused of Brigandish Demand for DPRK's Dismantlement of Nuclear Weapons
Pyongyang, May 3 (KCNA) -- The Council for Independent and Peaceful Reunification of the Nation in south Korea released a statement on April 25 accusing the U.S. of unreasonably demanding the north dismantle its nuclear weapons.

The U.S. hurled huge nuclear strategic weapons into the joint military exercises with south Korea, straining the situation to the maximum, the statement said.

It condemned the U.S. for staging all forms of nuclear war drills in south Korea, constantly threatening the north. This compelled the north to start nuclear development according to its policy of nuclear deterrent for self-defence.

It is quite natural for the north to opt for developing nuclear weapons to stand up against the moves for a nuclear war against the north for over half a century, it noted, and continued:

However, the U.S. is insisting that the north should abandon its nuclear weapons. This is nothing but brigandish logic that it should raise a white flag.

If the U.S. truly wants peace, it should conclude a peace treaty with the north immediately, withdraw all its nuclear weapons and forces from south Korea and opt for denuclearizing the world.
