Day of Sun Observed by Foreign Papers
Pyongyang, April 24 (KCNA) -- Newspapers of Uganda, Nigeria and Syria carried special write-ups to mark the birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung (the Day of the Sun).

The Ugandan paper Sun Rise on April 12 carried an article titled "Father of the people" illustrated with a portrait of smiling Kim Il Sung.

He was not only the leader of a country but tender-hearted father who looked after the people's life and destiny in a responsible manner.

Thanks to his warm love for the people, universal free healthcare and free education have been enforced in the DPRK since long ago and it has considered it as an overriding principle of its party and state activities to improve the people's standard of living.

He regarded the people as his beloved sons and daughters. He, therefore, made ceaseless journeys for field guidance, without having any rest even on his birthday.

The benign image of the tender-hearted father Kim Il Sung is deeply cherished not only by the Korean people but by progressive mankind.

The Nigerian paper Nigerian Observer on April 11 in an article titled "The eternal sun of Juche" noted that he started the Korean revolution with arms and established a socialist power independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in defence on this land by dint of arms.

It recalled that he rendered positive support and encouragement to the world progressive people in their struggle against imperialism and for the building of a new society.

He is always alive as the sun of Juche as he dedicated his all to the successful advance of the human cause of independence, it added.

The Syrian paper Al Baath on April 11 carried an article praising the immortal Songun leadership feats of Kim Il Sung and general secretary Kim Jong Il.
