S. Korean Organizations Call for Peace Agreement
Pyongyang, April 16 (KCNA) -- The People for Achieving Peace and Reunification, the Seoul Reunification Solidarity and the People's Action for Realizing Peace against War held a press conference in Seoul on Monday as regards the visit of the U.S. secretary of State to south Korea.

The organizations said that the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK is the main cause of escalating military tension on the Korean Peninsula.

The U.S. is busy stepping up arms buildup and holding drills of a war for aggression instead of seeking a negotiated and peaceful settlement of the issue of the peninsula, they said, adding:

Unless the distrust and hostile relations between the DPRK and the U.S. are removed, the danger of a war will remain. Therefore, the U.S. should drop its hostile policy toward the DPRK.

The U.S. should stop the joint military drills against the north and opt for a dialogue for concluding a peace agreement with no strings attached, they held.
