Kim Il Sung, Fatherly Leader of Korean People
Pyongyang, April 15 (KCNA) -- Today marks the Day of the Sun, President Kim Il Sung's birthday.

An endless stream of people has visited his statues built in different parts of the country to pay tribute to him.

People in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea call him "our fatherly leader." The call is an expression of their deep reverence for him.

He liberated the country from the Japanese colonial rule and made its people lead worthwhile life as independent human beings.

He always regarded the popular masses as masters of the country.

Under his loving care, a worker of a power station was appointed minister of construction and a coal miner elected deputy to the Supreme People's Assembly.

Those who were farm servants, peasants and boatmen in the days of the Japanese colonial rule became labor heroes well-known throughout the country.

In his lifetime, the President visited all parts of the country to ensure the wellbeing of its people, ranging from remote mountainous villages to co-op farms in the area north of the truce line.

His care for the people's living covered all from clothes and footwear to daily necessities.

He even settled family problems on his field guidance tours. Therefore, he always remains in the hearts of the DPRK people as their real father.
